Tennis Star Caroline Wozniacki Completes TCS NYC Marathon
The 24 year old tennis star completed the New York City Marathon this past weekend below her personal goal of three and a half hours. Wozniacki admitted she did “everything you’re not supposed to do” in preparation for her race, but still had fun in the crowd of over 50,000 runners. By racing, Wozniacki also raised $81,000 for the Team for Kids foundation.

Meb Keflezighi Nominated for Sportsman of the Year
2014 Boston Marathon winner Meb Keflezighi (runmeb) was nominated for Sports Illustrated’s most prestigious award this past week. The last runner to have won was Kip Keino in 1987. Meb’s win at Boston after the tragedy in 2013 marked the first American victory in 30 years and was celebrated throughout the U.S..

Boston Bombing Survivor Starts Youth Running Group
Nicole Gross was left unable to walk after the tragic bombings at the 2013 Boston Marathon. Now, Nicole has started an initiative group at her local elementary school to teach young girls life lessons and about the importance of personal health; The class then ends with a 5k run. Nicole has since recovered and is now able to freely walk after intensive therapy.
