Asics update of Spring 2011 running line continues with the update to the popular stability shoe, the Asics GT-2160 (update of last years’ GT-2150). Updates have been made both to improve the performance and comfort/fit of the shoe, starting by the weigth: the GT-2160 is the lightest of the GT-2100 series.

Returning for it’s seventh year, Mizuno unveils the completely updated Wave Nirvana in the premium stability niche. Mizuno updates their shoes on a two year cycle. That is, shoes get new uppers every year and a total update every two years. The 2011 Nirvana brings a totally new shoe to the premium stability market.

ASICS premium stability plus shoe – the Gel-Kayano 17 gets an update for 2011 that results in a slightly lighter shoe and improved cushioning due to a new sock-liner and better response due to ASICS Guidance Line technology being full length now. The upper and midsole are completely revised as is the Dynamotion Fit. Mizuno continues to provide male and female specific models using their Gender Engineering design principles

A new version for Nike’s workhorse stability running shoe. The Zoom Structure Triax+ 14 sports the same midsole and outsole of the previous version. This means a stable but very cushioned ride thanks to the full length Zoom Air and a fit that adapts to many shapes of foot. The changes are in the upper, with the addition of details such as Flywire

With the demise of the Wave Renegade the Wave Alchemy 10 now serves a s Mizuno’s lone entry in the motion control category. Updates include a plusher midsole and a new upper. Mizuno’s male and female specific Gender Engineering is carried over from the Wave Alchemy

Now in its sixth year, the Wave Nirvana 6 is Mizuno’s entry in the premium stability category. This years model offers several key updates to the midsole and the upper. Mizuno’s Gender Engineering, which provides men’s and women’s specific details, is retained from the Wave Nirvana 5.

New Balance 1226 Running Shoes Review. New Balance updates the 122x series with the new MR/WR1226. Designed as a high-mileage trainer for (heavier) runners who require moderate stability, offers a quite soft heel cushioning. NB packed all its trademark technologies in this shoe and sells it at a hefty price tag. Good stability features on the sole and light, breathable mesh on the upper are its best characteristic
