Summary

The MetaRide is the top of the line full cushioned neutral trainer from ASICS. The MetaRide introduces some new exciting innovations. It also has many tried and true ASICS technologies.

The midsole of the ASICS MetaRide is composed of 3 parts working together to leave the runner less fatigued over time: the GUIDESOLE, the GEL and FlyteFoam materials.
The GUIDESOLE has a unique shape. It is more curved than other ASICS offerings. This cuts down excess ankle movement, saves energy, and keeps your body moving forward. The MetaRide has a 0 mm drop to compliment the sole unit.
There are two sections of GEL cushioning in the heel to help with absorbing the impact of foot strikes. The GEL cushioning is sandwiched between two foam layers. ASICS firmer material, FlyteFoam Lyte, is on the top of the midsole; while FlyteFoam Propel the more cushioned and responsive layer is on the bottom.

The ASICS MetaRide employs a circular knit upper. The purpose of this knit upper is twofold, it provides the shoes with more breathability and second, it provides the shoe with more of a glove-like fit. ASICS Metaclutch technology appears in the MetaRide. In the heel is the Exoskeletal Heel counter providing the rear of the foot with much-needed support & fit.

In short, the ASICS MetaRide is a running shoe trying to change the way people run. It combines all traditional technologies with new innovations to create something completely new. The new GUIDESOLE technology combined with the GEL cushioning and Flytefoam midsoles hope to make running easier by having your legs work less. The upper uses a new circular knit material for breathability along with the Metaclutch technology to provide a great fit. The MetaRide is a glimpse into the energy saving franchise future of ASICS.

Who is it for?

We recommend the ASICS MetaRide to any runner who is looking for a long distance trainer which brings something new to the game.
