SummaryThis is just an overview, not a review. We did not test the Revel 3 yet.
The Brooks Revel 3 is a versatile shoe that comes at a good price point. It is designed to be a half lifestyle shoe and a half running shoe. The forefoot is flexible to offer a smooth, fast ride. If you are looking for a shoe that performs well in short to mid-distance runs, then this is a good option. Furthermore, half of an ounce has been taken off from the previous version of the shoe.
In the midfoot, you will find BioMoGo DNA. This is Brooks’ midsole that has been around for years, so it is proven to be comfortable and dependable. The midfoot in the Revel 3 can be a bit narrow, but it does a good job of absorbing shock.
The outsole of the Revel 3 is made of HPR Plus, which is a durable rubber compound. Flex grooves are located in the outsole to offer more flexibility and traction.
The upper is made of flat knit, which can be a bit thick but it won’t get in the way of comfort. Although the upper is breathable, don’t try to run in the rain with it because your feet will get wet. For dry, cool days, this shoe performs well.
