Summary
The Hoka One One Mach 3 is a highly cushioned, soft, responsive and lightweight running shoe. This new release is part of the FLY collection, including the Elevon and Cavu, and is Hoka's most lightweight range. Hoka One One are the opposite of minimalist running shoes. They are designed to cradle and cushion the feet, and bring a floating feel to running, which is the impression the shoe gives when first seeing it.As with all Hoka running shoes, the Mach 3 contains a Meta-rocker midsole, giving a low heel-toe differential. This teamed with the sculptured outsole, aids a guided running gait cycle. The early stage Meta-rocker in the Mach 3 is designed to give a smoother ride, and faster transition, making it great for speed work.
The Mach 3 contains the brand's ProFLY cushioning system in the midsole, which is made up of two different density foams; a firmer foam in the forefoot, and softer foam in the heel. This aims to balance a cushioned landing, and responsive toe off. Combined with the Meta rocker, you're in for a fast, guided run.
The rubberised outsole is light yet durable, and gives good grip and traction.
Updated features from the Mach 2 include added structure, and an improved mid foot lockdown, giving a slightly tighter fit. The upper mesh is also more breathable than previous versions. This upper contains minimal padding, which adds to the improved structure of the running shoe.
