This is just an overview, not a review. We did not test the Mafate Speed 3 yet.The Mafate Speed 3 is a highly cushioned trail shoe designed for racing over any distance. Elite trail athletes were asked to give their input in the creation of this shoe to make it a top performer.
The shoe is designed to give high levels of protection on the trails. The agressive Vibram Megagrip Compound outsole gives great traction, grip and durability and the high stack height gives extra protection underfoot. This new version has a more structured upper to support and hold the foot in place better than the EVO Mafate 2.
The midsole is a full compression EVA foam, giving stability and impact protection. This midsole is designed for neutral runners with a rocker design for a smooth rider and increased propulsion.
The upper of the shoe is a recycled woven mesh with KPU moulded overlays in Hoka's signature bright colors, ensuring you won't go unnoticed at the start line.
