Summary

This is just an overview, not a review. We did not test the Fastwitch 8 yet.
The Saucony Fastwitch 8 is a lightweight racing flat designed to be used on the road. It is made for those who overpronate as it offers support. If you run in low light or at nighttime, you will appreciate the reflective details. The shoe comes at a good price point and has many features for the price.

The midsole features SSL EVA that runs the entire length of the shoe. It makes for a smooth and faster transition. The midsole is less firm than the Fastwitch 7 and does a good job of balancing between too much cushioning and being too hard. The dual density medial post beneath the arch stops you from overpronation, which is where the stability part of the shoe comes in.

The upper of the Fastwitch 8 has been updated with engineered mesh that has more holes for extra breathability. The overlays are now FlexFilm, which are updated from the welded overlays, and are much more lightweight than the previous versions. TheOrtholite Premium Sockliner for anti-odor, anti-microbial, and anti-sweat gives the shoe a little bit of extra cushioning and comfort. The outsole of the shoe has arrow shaped lugs that run from the forefoot to the heel, so you can keep traction on wet or dry roads. Furthermore, a vertical cut from the heel to midfoot is in the underfoot for better flexibility.

Who is it for?

The Saucony Fastwitch 8 is perfect for those need a racing shoe with some added stability. These lightweight shoes will keep you from overpronating while offering support.
