Verdict
The ASICS Novablast 3 is a polished daily trainer which is best suited to relaxed, easy runs. Its midsole has been upgraded to FF Blast+ foam so it loses a bunch of weight and gains some extra cushioning depth. Version 3 rides smoother than its predecessor but it rides firmer so it doesn't have the fun, bouncy ride which the Novablast used to be known for.
The ASICS Novablast 2 is a unique daily trainer in the ASICS lineup which is highly cushioned, energetic and makes every run feel efficient and fun. Its versatile ride character allows it to handle a variety of paces and distances with ease.

Version 2 has been updated with more forefoot cushioning for long-distance comfort, a more stable heel and a much better upper which feels more premium.

When it comes to stability, the Novablast 3 wins because it has a wider base with a firmer midsole so there is less lean bias. The Novablast 2 can feel slightly unstable for overpronators.

The 2 versions have similar outsoles but the Novablast 3 has a flatter profile outsole so it has smoother transitions. The Novablast 2 has the more durable outsole because the rubber lugs cover the high wear areas on the heel.
