WHO IS IT FOR
I would recommend this shoe for a runner who needs a daily stability trainer that can handle distance along with giving them a push to run faster.

This is the 17th edition of the Saucony Omni, however it is the first with the ISOFit technology. It is for runners who need maximum stability and a smooth ride. It is one of the cornerstones of Saucony’s stability line.

The Omni price point lands in the middle of the Saucony stability line. It would be comparable to Brooks Adrenaline and Nike Air Zoom Structure.

Upon opening the box I was impressed with the colorway and design of the shoe. The lighter blue and dashes of neon yellow catch the eye without being too much.

The inside of the foot looks different from the outside of the shoe which makes the shoe more visually appealing. I was intrigued by the lacing system because it looked different from my last pair of Sauconys.

Saucony Omni ISO – Top

When I slipped them on for the first time they fit like a glove. The upper hugged my feet without being overbearing. The sole felt firm but flexible which is what I have come to expect from a Saucony shoe.

My first run out of the box was a relaxed 4 miles. I like how it was a smooth ride from the first step along with feeling light on my feet.

Saucony Omni ISO Sole Unit

Some other brands that I’ve run in focus on how much spring the midsole provides. They focus on the bounce of the toe-off, which, in my experience, breaks down too quickly in my opinion.

Not only do some of these midsoles wear out quickly, they often do not mold to my foot. However, this was not the case with the Everrun midsole technology in the Omni Iso.

Saucony Omni ISO – Medial Side

I found the Everrun midsole to be adaptive to my foot strike providing my stride with a stable base along with a natural bounce. This material provides the shoe with phenomenal flexibility and durability.

I found it took about 10 miles of running to truly feel the effects of the Everrun technology. It truly molded to my foot which made the shoe even more comfortable to run in.

As a runner you always strive to find a shoe that makes running more natural. While others brands have a 12 mm midsole drop Saucony has incorporated an 8mm drop which helps you achieve a more natural stride.

This eases the transition from where you strike the ground to the forefront of your foot. I found this lower drop naturally propelled my feet forward, allowing me to push myself to go faster with less effort.

Once I felt the benefits of the Everrun Technology along with the rest of the sole, I was truly impressed with the results of my runs. Due to the sole unit, I was able to run longer and faster without feeling as tired at the end.

Saucony Omni ISO Upper Info

On Saucony’s website they claim “We don’t just make improvements, we make the right improvements.” This is especially true for the upper of the Saucony Omni Iso.

This is the first version of the Omni to get the ISOFit technology. This upper and lacing system has developed and updated over the past few years and has been included on many updated Saucony shoes.

Saucony Omni ISO - Toe

Saucony Omni ISO – Toe

I have had the same problem with Saucony uppers in the past; as I ran more miles, the upper material ripped around my big toes and the side of my foot, creating holes. The ISOFit upper seems to have solved this issue, as it didn’t develop in the miles I ran in these.

The ISOFIt technology was one of earliest aspects I noticed on my runs. The lacing system allows runners to determine how snug of a fit you want in the arch area of your feet. My feet always felt cradled on my runs. This technology prevents your feet from sliding or rubbing in the shoe.

The upper adapted to my feet and molded around them while making them feel secure. This is most noticeable in the ISOFit, but the shoes also include an external heel case which holds your heel in place and supports your ankles. This provided my feet with a superior fit and comfort mile after mile.

Saucony Omni ISO Conclusions

The mixture of the Everrun technology that is tried and true with new technology like the ISOFit is an ideal combination.

The Saucony Omni Iso makes running feel natural. The new ISOFit changed my view on the upper part of a running shoe and made me realize what a difference it can make.

I felt it hug my foot and adapt to how my foot moves as I ran. As I ran in the Omni Iso I felt like the shoe was specifically designed for my feet.

Every run in the Omni Iso was smooth and comfortable because of the many technical aspects working together. A sign of a great shoe is how it handles different types of workouts.

I loved wearing them no matter how hard or how long the run, because I knew my feet were going to be taken care of.

The Omni Iso has cushioning for stability without being bulky. This, along with the Everrun and ISOFit technologies allow you to push yourself to run faster without feeling weighed down.

If you are a stability runner who needs a dependable, durable, and flexible trainer for every type of run I would highly encourage you to look at the Omni Iso, it will not disappoint.

We purchased a pair of Saucony Omni ISO from runningwarehouse using our own money. This did not influence the outcome of this review, written after running more than 50 miles in them.
