User Review: Newton Gravity by Robert Bronstein

I’m a podiatrist by training. I’ve run since my college cross-country days (many miles ago).
I came to Newtons after reading description of the design in a Podiatry trade journal. The explanation of how the shoe and midstance foot-strike enhance performance and reduce injury made sense.
I’m now wearing my second pair. My first pair lasted about 18 months. It took a while to change my gait to shorter stride lengths to benefit from the shoe. I noticed that I am running more upright and used my gluteus and hamstring more, emulating champion marathoners. I was confronted with my structural imbalance, that I’m addressing inorder to build on the gains I’ve made
I was able to cut 2 minutes a mile off my time with the same effort. I also stopped wearing orthotics, that I wore and prescribed to patients for many years.
The shoes themselves are light, the “lugs” in the forefoot absorb the shock, and with the attendant benefit of running with knees flexed. No more sore knees or hip.
I put on an old pair of Mizuno X10 recently. Suprisingly those shoe, that I’d loved, caused me to lurch forward, because of the higher heel,. I could run very far or long in them.
Very satisfied. Too bad they don’t make a golf shoe, and let me sell it.
