User Review: Nike Pegasus 27 by Priscilla Miranda

These here sweet kicks are a pair of Nike Air Pegasus+ 27. This classic neutral shoe is my personal favorite thus far.

Bottom: Excellent and lightweight cushioning due to a Zoom Unit in the heel to mid-arch area, really allowing for smooth movement throughout the gait cycle. The Zoom unit is also flexible enough for a comfortable yet pretty stable ride. Stable enough to hold up to all manners of abuse. Great on the road, but also quite effective on trails. Not a trail shoe originally, but these babies have deep enough grooves to deal with dirt, rocks, and the occasional squirrel underfoot – of course the avoidance of said squirrels is mainly due to a Cushlon heel that enables a quick stable response. The grooves and crash pad are gender-specific, really maximizing and targeting the absorption of shock.

Inside: An extremely comfy interior is great, with good room for toe movement, although the shoes do not hold up too well running down inclines; it could use a more stable arch support to avoid heel slipping. Irritation on any part of my feet was a total distant memory in these shoes. Comfortable cushioning on the tongue and around the ankle areas really aided the smooth feel to the entire shoe. The dual layer Ortholite sockliner is fabulously molding, really holding the shape of the foot, as well as easily removable for clean-up.

Up top: The mesh was good enough to repel minor moisture, and mostly breathable, I experienced a cooler foot the majority of the time, including runs in 97 ºF weather. However, the mesh did deteriorate sooner than expected, although for running mostly trails in these shoes, I could easily say the mesh lasted longer than intended. Equipped with a place for a Nike+ sensor and you can go for miles on these kicks. I sure did… and didn’t claim a single squirrels’ life
