Nike Is Set to Launch the Air Zoom Pegasus 37 on April 28

The winged horse Pegasus could not make it to heaven, but its legacy lives long in Greek mythology. First introduced in 1983 as “the shoe for every runner,” Nike Air Zoom Pegasus seeks to leave its mark too.

Nike has had a great quarter with substantial revenue. It is already opening stores in China and ramping up its global operations and bringing new designs to the market. Next week, it’s releasing the Nike Pegasus 37 — its latest in the line of athletic shoes.

The new Pegasus uses the new and durable React foam along with insole and design upgrades. Let’s look at these updates closely.

What’s new in Pegasus 37?

Instead of the full-length Zoom Air Bag, Nike has included a forefoot Zoom Air bag. But what’s the difference? The forefoot is where your feet rebound from the ground and need an airbag support the most.

The Pegasus 37’s bag is twice as thick as its predecessor, which Nike says offers more energy return.

There’s the new React foam for the midsole. It’s lighter, more responsive, and more durable than the previous Cushlon foam.

Nike Pegasus 37 will come with a new translucent upper design, which will give the shoe a lightweight, feather-like look.

The updated midfoot also enables a fit band to go around it.

The color shift in the design highlights the placement of the Zoom Air bag in the shoe’s forefoot.

What’s familiar with the upgrade?

The shoe’s silhouette maintains the heel collar that tapers away from the Achilles tendon. Nike says the design is influenced by direct feedback from athletes. The waffle rubber outsole also seeks to provide “trusted durability” to runners.

Nike will release the Pegasus 37 on April 28.
