The New Balance Fresh Foam Vongo is a highly cushioned stability trainer with a comfortably snug upper and low drop height.

It’s super comfortable and shines in its niche but most certainly is not a shoe for everyone, particularly those with high motion control needs or who prefer a roomy toe box.

The ASICS GT 2000-5 is an exceptional stability trainer. The updates from last year's edition are a breath of fresh air, but the core of the shoe remains the same.

Brooks Transcend 4 is a stable shoe without bulk and is well-suited for both long runs and speed work.

It's higher price tag is justified by cushion that lasts throughout a long run as well as obvious technology and quality materials going into the design.

HOKA ONE ONE has expanded its well-cushioned line by introducing its first stability shoe, the Arahi, which offers a fabulous combination of support and stability fused with lightweight cushion, with an upper fit that is very similar to what I've experienced previously from HOKA.

Mizuno’s Wave Horizon is a snug-fitting stability shoe that delivers moderate cushion and control with little bulk.

The ride is a bit stiff but overall enjoyable, and the shoe maintains its support throughout a long run. The cushioning is pleasant but has room for improvement.

In effect, it's a shoe that seems confused about if it's stability or neutral shoe, snug or loose-fitting, which is not
