It offers an invigorating, no-nonsense feel for both speedwork and long runs but isn't my top choice for either

    The New Balance Fresh Foam Vongo is a highly cushioned stability trainer with a comfortably snug upper and low drop height. It’s super comfortable and shines in its niche but most certainly is not a shoe for everyone, particularly those with high motion control needs or who prefer a roomy toe box

    The ASICS GT 2000-5 is an exceptional stability trainer. The updates from last year's edition are a breath of fresh air, but the core of the shoe remains the same

    Brooks Transcend 4 is a stable shoe without bulk and is well-suited for both long runs and speed work. It's higher price tag is justified by cushion that lasts throughout a long run as well as obvious technology and quality materials going into the design

    Mizuno’s Wave Horizon is a snug-fitting stability shoe that delivers moderate cushion and control with little bulk. The ride is a bit stiff but overall enjoyable, and the shoe maintains its support throughout a long run. The cushioning is pleasant but has room for improvement
