Running Around the Web This Week – 003

Hello everybody and good friday !
Running around the web this week is back for the third time, and today there are 4 links that provide some good reading material.
Here they are:
In this Wall Street Journal article/video we see New Balance’s shoe assembly factory in the US and we get a chance to see the workers and a bit of how the process of putting a running shoe together is. Very interesting!
Our friends at Believe in the Run have tested the new Saucony Virrata (full review soon here on RunningShoesGuru as well!). Here are their impressions.
The next step of a debate that doesn’t seem to find rest, or a definite answer. Runner’s World just published an article commenting the result of a new scientific test. Apparently, runners who transitioned into Vibram Five Fingers (according to the training plan on the Vibram Website), sustained foot bone injury as opposed to the control group of runners who continued training with their usual running shoes. Here comes the link.
Good news, right ? Neuro-scientists at Cambridge found that aerobic activities such as running favor the growth of brain cells, aiding functions such as recollection. Here’s the Guardian article.
This concludes this week’s link roundup. If you want to discuss them or if you want to suggest new ones for next week, write us an email at guru{at}www.runningshoesguru.com
Have a great weekend!
