Zooming into 2021 with the ZoomX Invincible Run and the React Infinity Run 2

The React Infinity Run Flyknit was only launched last year but it has soon become one of Nike’s most popular performance running shoes.

Its wide midsole base gave it a stable ride, while its super soft React midsole provided bottomless cushioning without a hint of mushiness.

However, the React Infinity Run’s achilles heel was its heel slippage. Countless runners complained of the loose heel which resulted in subpar foot lockdown.

The React Infinity Run Flyknit 2 has a brand new upper with a plusher tongue, collar and Flywire cables which should improve the fit and performance.

They’ve also added double last row eyelets for heel lock lacing which was impossible to do with the first version. Let’s hope all the new upper padding doesn’t add on too much weight.

This newcomer has a full-length ZoomX midsole. ZoomX is Nike’s flagship midsole foam: lighter and more responsive than any other foam in their arsenal.

Nike says that the ZoomX Invincible Run has even more foam in its midsole than the Infinity Run Flyknit 2 which should make it more cushioned and better for longer runs.

It also has a wide midsole base which is rocker-shaped to make ride transitions smoother and more fluid.

To create some hype, Nike has posted some grainy, low-res “leaked” photos of the ZoomX Invincible Run on the official Nike Running Instagram profile.
