Summary
This is just an overview, not a review. We did not test the Adizero Takumi-Sen 3 yet.The Adidas Adizero Takumi-Sen 3 is a neutral, competition racing flat for marathons. It is lightweight, has a low-profile design, and provides good energy return as you move through your step. The high-quality outsole gives excellent traction as you race across the road.
The Adidas Boost midsole foam is in the forefoot for the first time in the Sen series, so you can expect more cushioning from this racing shoe. The torsion system in the forefoot is also located in the midsole for better stability. The combination of the torsion system, Boost midsole, and EVA in the heal and midfoot creates cushioning and responsiveness that protects your feet and push you further.
The upper of the Adizero Takumi-Sen 3 is made of Teijin Japanese Mesh, which is durable and adapts to the shape of your feet. This type of mesh does have bigger holes for more breathability, but this also means they are not waterproof. The Tirennina overlays are suede to provide structure while aiding in flexibility.
The outsole of the shoe features rubber nubs made of Quickstrike material, which runs from the forefoot to the heel. This material allows for traction and a little extra cushioning. The Continental Rubber provides even more traction where AdiWear keeps the outsoles from wearing down too fast.
