The Adidas Supernova Sequence 3 is a stability-minded shoe which promotes comfort and stabilization throughout. The shoe provides solid cushioning through the heel and moderate arch support, cradling the foot and promoting an even foot strike. The medial support structure in the Supernova Sequence 3 promotes an even pronation, and can be felt guiding and correcting the foot while running. With plush cushioning on the upper and tongue, the foot feels comfortable and supported through runs of any distance.

  • Adidas Supernova Sequence 3 Sole Unit:

The sole unit of the Supernova Sequence 3 features the expected bells and whistles of a supportive shoe. The entirety of the adiWEAR® blown rubber outer sole provides a moderately-grooved design for traction across different terrains, providing support and grip that does not falter on uneven or wet terrain. The midsole provides a great amount of heel and midfoot cushioning, reducing overpronation and lessening the stress of impact for heel strikers. Made of adiPRENE® foam, the midsole features contoured cushioning to promote specific foot movement. The midsole works in tandem with Adidas’ Pro-moderator medial support device, preventing pronation while prompting footfalls to occur on the midfoot versus the heel or forefoot. Additionally, the shoe’s TORSION® SYSTEM provides a study and stable trussic system to keep arches stable and semi-rigid upon footfall. The forefoot cushioning also provides a soft yet firm foundation for pushing off quickly, promoting rapid foot turnover rate. In short, the sole unit provides comfort, stability, and guidance for runners who need arch support, heel cushioning, and overpronation assistance.

  • Adidas Supernova Sequence 3 Upper:

Similarly to the sole unit of the Supernova Sequence 3, the upper unit provides a moderate amount of rigidity without sacrificing comfort or cushioning. The stitched-on micro-suede upper allows the foot to move, flex, and shift while remaining comfortable and supported. The micro-suede material allows feet to breathe without being exposed to the elements—allowing runners to feel comfortable in the shoes even after a few hours on their feet. With ample cushioning in the tongue and around the ankle, the upper provides tremendous support which helps guide the ankle and prevents rolling. The upper also features a nonslip lining, as well as an adiLITE™/respoEVA antimicrobial sockliner which keeps feet from overheating, and prevents the risk of blisters and hot spots incurred from less breathable sockliners in other shoes.

  • Adidas Supernova Sequence 3 Opinion:

The Adidas Supernova Sequence 3 provides a great amount of support, especially throughout the heel and arch. Right away, these supportive and correcting features can be felt throughout the foot—making the shoes a preferable option for runners who have issues with form and footfall. The shoe provides a cushioned feeling throughout the foot, allowing runners who experience pain in less-cushioned shoes to run longer without the same risk of soreness. While these features are tremendous assets for some runners, the model may provide too much support for runners who have form issues that could be otherwise resolved through training and gait analysis. Additionally, the supportive features of the shoes do come at the expense of weight—the shoes can feel heavy toward the end of a run, which may adversely affect runners who could sacrifice cushioning for thinner shoes.
