Running Around the Web This Week – 002

Good friday everyone!
I hope your running week was good!
This is the second installment of our “running around the web” weekly series, where we share with you some of the links that we read this week.
Our friends at Flotrack released a video of Galen Rupp running a 3:50 mile, and shortly after that, going for a very intense tempo workout on the treadmill.
If you wonder what kind of training you need to end up on an Olympic podium, this is a must see.

If you followed us last week, you’ll know Adidas launched their newest creation, the Adidas Energy Boost.
This time two big publications ask two very different questions.
Kyle Wagner from Gizmodo wonders if using the Energy Boost in competition is cheating, while Amby Burfoot from Runner’s World questions if more energy returns actually means a better run (would you run easily on a trampuline? – question that was asked by Peter Larson on Runblogger as well).
This evergreen question has been asked/answered by Gina Kolata on the NY Times blog. The answer, as usual, is not clear. When to Retire Running Shoes?
RunningBrief is a brand new running-oriented newsletter curated by Cory Smith. Every week he will send you some worthy links to quench your thirst for running knowledge.
… and this concludes the second episode of Running Around the Web This Week. I hope you find this information enjoyable and useful.
Please get in touch if you have some links to suggest!
Happy weekend of running!
