Limited edition adiZero Boston 7 running shoe to be launched by Adidas.

The neutral trainer will be released just in time for this year’s Boston Marathon.

Adidas has announced the launch of the new adiZero Boston 7, an updated version inspired by the adiZero Adios. The shoe features lightweight support, comfort and cushioning, created especially for training runs.

However, the neutral trainer’s improvements are focused on performance enhancement. They’re intended to make the runner run faster with additional versatility and supportive material – all while preserving a similar fit.

“Becoming faster is an incremental, painstakingly detailed process, and that insight was the inspiration behind every design detail,”

Jim Jennings, Running Category Director for adidas, said.

“The new AdiZero Boston 7 is for the discerning runner who demands consistency, credibility and craftmanship.”

The shoe features the company’s lightest engineered mesh on the forefoot, which allows for maximum breathability while maintaining support. And, the shoe’s weight is reduced due to lighter mesh crafted on the quarter and heel.

Because of data gleaned by ARAMI’s motion-capture testing, the adiZero Boston 7’s tongue and heel were reengineered. The shoe’s Boost cushioning technology, which specializes in comfort and energy return, teams up with a symmetrical energy rail to provide increased stability. And, a Stretchweb Continental rubber outsole fosters a high-standard grip that molds to every stride.

The adiZero Boston 7 is distinctly, and utterly, “Boston.” The Boston Athletic Association’s blue and yellow colors adorn the trainer, and its logo is featured on the shoe’s tongue. The unicorn marking signature to the Boston Marathon is on the heel, and Boston landmarks are displayed all over the removable sock liner.

The shoe will be first be released on March 23rd online at adidas.com and at the Boston Marathon adidas RunBase. And, on April 13th, it will be available at the John Hancock Sports and Fitness Expo. Other colors are expected to be launched in June. Visit adidas.com for more information.
