Polar Launches Grit X, Its New Outdoor Fitness Watch

Polar has released the Grit X, its latest outdoor fitness watch. Polar says that it has taken all features and design cues from its 2018 lineup of watches. From there, it has added more utilities to help athletes get most out of their workouts and excursions.

The Grit X is a sturdy smartwatch for those who love outdoors and are unwilling to compromise on great battery backup and comprehensive training features. Polar was the first company to sturdy a GPS on the wrist of runners. Now with its newest Grit X, it seems to flaunt that heritage, tackling and tracking everything you throw at it.

Polar Grit X specs and features

The new Polar weighs at 64 grams, which is quite light for the sturdiness it ensures. It has passed the MIL-STD-810 for its resistance to humidity and temperature. The watch is truly designed for outdoors as its 346 mAh Li-pol battery packs 40 hours of training with GPS turned on. That’s like a proper weekend hike. If you switch off then GPS, you can look at covering 100 hours.

It uses Komoot, a navigation system designed for cyclists and hikers. Komoot provides turn by turn guidance while cycling, hiking, mountain biking, and backpacking. Besides Komoot, it also lets you connect with Strava, TrainingPeaks, MyFitnessPal, Endomondo, and Nike+ Run Club.

Outdoors, Grit X also details out ascents and descents of a hike on your dashboard through Hill Splitter. It has everything you’d expect from an outdoor watch. There’s a GPS, compass altimeter, and other sensors to track heart rate, steps, VO2max, calorie burn, swimming, and more.

It can help you manage your calories and keep a check on your health by sending you activity reminders and managing your activities on its 1.2-inch screen with a 240 x 240 resolution.
