Saucony Pushes the Release of Its Endorphic Running Shoes Lineup Citing the COVID-19 Pandemic

Saucony, in a new announcement, stated that it has postponed the launch of three of its three running shoes in the Endorphin lineup “given the current climate.”

The three shoes — Endorphin Pro, Endorphin Speed, and Endorphin Shift — will now launch together on July 1.

The shoes that were initially slated for launch last year include several new design and performance upgrades.

We had also included these shoes in our list of running shoes we were looking forward to in 2020.

So now, while the timer ticks towards the newly announced July 1 release, let us see what these new shoes have in store for runners and athletes.

Endorphin Pro

The Endorphin Pro is the highlight of the lineup.

It features the new ‘Speedroll’ technology that propels runners forward, giving them a feeling of continuous momentum. It also comes with the ultralight and springy PWRRUN PB cushioning. The new cushioning system is 40 percent lighter than Saucony’s PWRRUN+, which is used in Saucony Triumph.

Endorphin Pro

The carbon plate is S-shaped and runs through the full length of this running shoe. The shoe plate is designed in a way where runners can experience a springboard effect as they take off for a run.

The Endorphin Pro is designed for speed, and the shoe materials only complement this fact. It has an 8mm offset, and for a size 9, the shoes weigh at 212 grams.

The Endorphin Pro will retail at $250 upon its launch.

Upon its launch, the Endorphin Pro will compete with the Asics Metaracer and the Nike Vaporfly that also come with carbon plates.

Endorphin Speed

The Endorphin Speed has everything that the Pro offers, but the carbon plate. Instead, Saucony has used a full-length TPU plate. It gives a feeling similar to that of a shoe with a carbon plate.

It also has a slightly more structured and durable upper body — such as the heel counter, which is missing on the Endorphin Pro.

On the weight front, the Endorphin Speed is a tad bit heavier than the Pro. It weighs at 221 gms for a size 9.

The Endorphin Speed will hit the stores priced at $250.

Endorphin Shift

The Endorphin Shift is for long-distance runners. It features a neutral cushion and uses the PWRRUN foam which was launched earlier last year.

The foam works with the extended TPU heel counter and a rubber foam to support the feet of runners in long-distance runs.

Endorphin Shift

The Shift is the heaviest of all the Endorphin models — weighing at 286 grams for the same shoe size.

The Shift will be $20 lesser than the Speed and will retail at $180.

Some of the other shoe releases that have been postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic include six upcoming releases in Nike’s Air Jordan Retro lineup.
