ASICS has officially bestowed the honor of developing and building their new EMEA headquarters in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands to the RED Comapny which won the brand’s invitational competition. The state-of-the-art office building will be designed by top architecture firm, Powerhouse Company.

The new EMEA headquarters will be built in anticipation of the celebrated sports and lifestyle brand’s growth and expansion in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in the coming years.

Building design

The 11,100 square meter building for the ASICS EMEA will be built with focus on sports, health, collaboration and transparency. The design created by Powerhouse Company showcases a layout that is not only efficient, but flexible as well, allowing ASICS employees to feel as if their environment can accomodate all kinds of work that they’ll be doing on a day to day basis.

As seen in the concept images for the design, each work floor will measure at 2,800 square meters each and free from columns to provide an open and relaxing atmosphere in the building.

All glass windows are floor-to-ceiling, allowing natural light to flood the whole building and providing a panoramic view of the Haarlemmermeer polder. The headquarters’ atrium is very spacious and will house “ASICS World”, a one of a kind, three-dimensional showcase that will show off all ASICS brands and will also function as a meeting space, podium, and a design center.

On the same floor as ASICS World, there will be a Power Health Bar, an ASICS gym, and an ASICS brand store.

Because of ASICS’ philosophy of “A Sound Mind In A SOund Body”, the headquarters will be built according to the highest standards of health and sustainability as dictated by the WELL Gold and LEED Gold certifications.

Every floor of the building will have parts that will fold inwards to reveal terraces that will provide people direct access to an outside space.

”As part of the ASICS Growth Plan 2020, ASICS EMEA will continue to grow. In order to have all of our regional Head Quarter employees together, ASICS will move into a new beautiful and sustainable location. The way ASICS employees can interact with our accounts, customers, vendors and other coworkings will be an important element. Through our partnership with RED Company we are sure to create an environment which is fit for our future,” stated Robert Vermin, Chief Financial Officer of ASICS EMEA.

“We are very excited to work with ASICS in setting the new standards for working in the 21st century. Not only through the large and flexible workspaces, but also because of the dedication to smart, sustainable design and technology. By activating the ground floor and the atrium with a mix of office related functions, this building becomes more than an office building; it becomes a hybrid building of work, innovation and meeting. The mix of work and services encourages collaboration and therefore innovation: it creates the working environment of the future,” added Niels Jansen of RED Company.
