Autumn is yet to begin and we’re already looking at the new shoes for Spring 2013 ! Brooks Running had some very successful shoes this year: the Pure project really impressed us (especially the Pure Connect), the usual Adrenaline and Cascadia were solid, the Ghost a great shoe that is just getting better.
The new shoes include updates to all the shoes in the Pure line, a new Pure shoe (the Pure Drift), updated Adrenaline, Ravenna, Cascadia…
So, while we wait to try on the new shoes and review them, here’s a preview of some of them…
Adrenaline GTS 13
Updates include improved underfoot flex by adding Omega Flex Grooves and continuing Omni Grooves in the forefoot, allowing the outsole to bend and shape naturally. Continuing with the tradition of tailored fit, stretch eyelets lock into the medial side to capture the foot better and technologies like Flextra and anatomical Brooks DNA deliver customized stability and cushion.
This season, this shoe is bringing a whole lot of swagger with sleek design lines and fast colors. Brooks honed in on midfoot capture and engineered a saddle that envelopes the foot with an adjustable band.
Pure Cadence 2
With a new burritowrap tongue, the feel of this lovable shoe just gets better. Add a fresh look and some street cred, and this featherweight friend will run footloose and fancy-free with you.
Pure Grit 2
Brooks constructed a new outsole with a more aggressive, multi-directional lug pattern for better grip on the everchanging surfaces of adventure. Its concave shape delivers better balance by splaying out upon impact and creating more surface area for ground contact. The upper has been re-worked to give runners a better midfoot wrap.
The Pure Drift is a new shoe for 2013. An anatomical last mimics the shape of the foot for a closer fit and the hardly-there upper provides just a little more coverage than a birthday suit. When you really want to feel free as a bird, remove the sockliner for a zero drop experience. No-seam construction keeps it comfortable and a soft platform mellows impact.
Brooks swapped out the midsole for BioMoGo DNA to create a super cohesive transition and deluxe-ified the Caterpillar Crash Pad on the lateral side to smooth that heel-to-toe even more. The suede geometric pattern on the upper is a shout-out to past Cascadia designs but also serves the function of wrapping the foot for a close fit.
